Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza Recipe – Dough and Sauce from Scratch

MAKES 2 PIZZAS

Ingredients:

Dough:
3 cups flour
1 cup 110-degree water
1 package (1/4 oz.) yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt

Sauce:

14 oz. tomato sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
5 chopped garlic cloves
Add fresh herbs at the end (thyme basil and parsley)

Toppings:

2 cups mozzarella cheese
1 cup parmesan cheese
5 – 6 cooked slices of bacon, chopped
1/2 cup hamburger

Procedure:

1. Combine water yeast and sugar for dough. Wait 10 minutes until foamy.
2. In mixer combine ingredients for dough with hook attachment for 4 minutes
3. Set dough aside in coated covered bowl for 45 minutes
4. Cook bacon and hamburger, separate into pieces to be used on the pizza
5. Combine ingredients for sauce at a simmer adding fresh herbs at the end. Cool.
6. Remove dough after rising, knead and cut into halves (makes 2 pizzas)
7. Roll out dough onto a pizza pan and add sauce and toppings
8. Bake for 9 minutes at 550 degrees (or longer at reduced temperature)
